(My family visiting Mexico in January, 2019)
Looking back, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, I just didn't know what I wanted to teach. I took my first Spanish class in middle school, was totally fascinated by it, and the rest is history.
I graduated from Metro State University of Denver with a B.A. in Spanish, and spent one semester in Guadalajara (Jalisco, Mexico). Spending the time in Mexico helped me to practice my Spanish skills, learn about the rich culture, try the authentic cuisine and make some lifelong friends. Studying abroad was an unforgettable learning experience that everyone should have at some point in their life.
After my second year of teaching, I went on to get my Master's in Secondary Education. All of my teaching experience has been with high schoolers; I'm not sure I'd enjoy any age group as much as much as grades 9-12. While I started at Northglenn in the Fall of 2015, I've been teaching since 2006. I love it here at Northglenn, and am always excited to get to know new students..
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. Being a teacher and a mom, I don't have much free time, but I also wouldn't have it any other way.
